Summer is around the corner, and that means sunshine, road trips, and weekend getaways! While you’re making vacation plans, don’t forget to book a safe and comfortable place for your furry friend to stay.

At Oak Grove Kennel, summer is one of our busiest seasons — especially around holidays. If you're planning to board your pet with us, here’s what you’ll need to know to get ready for a smooth and stress-free experience:

1. Book Early — Deposits Are Required for Peak Season

We’ve implemented updated policies to make sure all of our guests enjoy top-quality care during busy times. For all peak season and holiday reservations, a 3-night minimum stay and a non-refundable deposit are required at the time of booking. This deposit secures your pet’s stay and is applied to the total cost. If you need to cancel, we’re happy to apply the deposit to a future stay or grooming service.

Peak season dates for 2025 include:

  • January 1–3

  • March 22–30

  • July 2–6

  • November 21–29

  • December 19–31

Be sure to plan ahead — these spots fill up quickly!

2. Vaccinations Are a Must

All pets boarded at Oak Grove Kennel must have current vaccinations on file before check-in.

Required dog vaccines:

  • Rabies

  • DHPP (Distemper/Parvo)

  • Bordetella (kennel cough)

  • Leptospirosis

Required cat vaccines:

  • Rabies

  • FELV

  • FVRCP

Vaccination records can be uploaded online or sent to us directly.

3. What to Pack for Your Pet

Help your dog feel at home while you’re away! We recommend bringing:

  • Food for the full stay (pre-portioned if possible)

  • Medications with instructions

  • Comfort items like a blanket or favorite toy

We provide spacious accommodations, quiet indoor areas, and plenty of playtime — but a touch of home can go a long way.

4. Update Your Info

It’s important that we can reach you during your pet’s stay. Be sure your contact details and emergency contact information are up to date when booking.

5. Try Our New Online Booking Portal!

We’ve made it easier than ever to request a boarding reservation online. Our Pet Owner's Portal lets you:

  • Request boarding or grooming appointments

  • Upload vaccine records

  • Update pet info

  • Receive appointment confirmations and reminders

If you're ready to book, click here to visit the Owner Portal and request a reservation today!
